Raw Food Breakfast: Green Juice – A Fast, Delicious, Nutrient Dense Raw Food Recipe

0 Raw Food Breakfast: Green Juice A Fast, Delicious, Nutrient Dense Raw Food RecipeVisit http://www.learnrawfood.com to see more raw food recipes. Raw food author and chef Jennifer Cornbleet shares how to prepare green juice using the Green Star Tribest Juicer, especially good for breakfast. From her DVD, Raw Food Made Easy.

Are you a juice head? If not, you should be! Raw juice drinks and smoothies are an excellent way to get your RDA of fresh fruits and vegetables. And unlike commercial fruit juices, veggie juices, and fruit-veggie juice blends, raw juice recipes are made without high fructose corn syrup or other ‘artificial sweeteners.’

While many people are good about eating fruit, they often forget to eat their vegetables. An easy way to get a day’s worth of green goodness in just a few gulps is with Jennifer Cornbleet’s Green Juice recipe.

In this video, raw food chef and cookbook author shows you how to prepare Green Juice, a nutrient-dense breakfast drink that will load you up with a powerhouse of health…including vitamins, calcium, and trace minerals.

A knife, cutting board, measuring spoons, citrus reamer, and juicer are the only equipment you need. As for ingredients, the green all-stars are:

• Celery
• Kale or Collard Leaves
• Cucumber
• Parsley or Cilantro

Lemon juice ’rounds out’ the flavor of this delightfully vibrant emerald eye-opener. A small piece of fresh ginger will add zing or add a few cubes of apple will increase sweetness naturally.

    Hi Jennifer,

    Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for this video. You’re adorable. I have a greenstar too. I do leafy greens as well. But I get a ton of foam. Why don’t you get any foam?

    Hi Paula,
    I love …

    Hi Paula,
I love the Vitamix, and use it almost daily to make green smoothies. But it isn’t a juicer–the smoothies still have the pulp. I also like to make green vegetable juice daily–you can get a high concentration of alkalizing greens, even more than you could get into a smoothie. Yes, there is no fiber in it, but I’m getting so much fiber in other foods, it doesn’t matter. So I like and use both machines.

    Jenny

    @templebarboy …
@templebarboy Although I am no expert. Tests have shown that slow, cold pressed juicers create juice that can store for up to 48 hours. (Compared to centrifugal juicers) However juice is best consumed within 15 minutes to prevent oxidation, or so I heard. Yet, as there is no fiber in the juice, you want to slowly sip and mix you saliva with the juice to start the first stage of digestion, in the mouth. Good luck!

kevin gianni’s channel has a recipe for turning the leftover pulp into raw crackers. might be a tip for those of us who feel like we’re wasting veggies.

I’d love to get a juicer. My husband and I are doing a 60 day raw diet challenge. I’d love to do it permanently. I love your videos! It’s truly refreshing to see that you can make such wonderful dishes that are completely raw and I don’t think we’ll feel deprived at all if we incorporate that beautiful chocolate mousse tart!

Hi Jennifer, can you keep the rest of juice for a few hours lunch or does it lose nutritional value?

Jennifer, you make *the* cutest raw food videos. Love the production quality, your kitchen, and especially you :)
Thanks also for the tips in the middle. I try not to waste any food in my kitchen, but hadn’t thought of saving up stems & stalks for green juice. Bonus!

I have a ‘normal’ juicer and I ten to mold the pulp into balls and put it through 3 or 4 times. Even then I feel I am wasting so much goodness.

I have this same juicer and it is fantastic. I’m glad you’re really pushing this one instead of other juicers. They just aren’t quite as good.
